Usage Information
Your doctor or healthcare professional will tell you how much of this medicine to use and how often. It is not advisable to take more medicine or more often than your doctor tells you to. Take this medicine 30 minutes before meals and at bedtime.
In the case of metoclopramide oral concentrate - mix the medicine with another liquid, such as water, juices, soda or soda-like beverages, or with a semi-solid food, such as applesauce or pudding.
Dosage
Metoclopramide is usually given four times daily, 30 minutes before each meal and at bedtime for the treatment of esophageal reflux. The adjusted dosage and frequency may be needed in elderly patients.
Interactions
Before taking Metoclopramide, it is important that your doctor know if you have taken a monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI) in the last 14 days and in such cases, metoclopramide must be used with due care. Also concurrent administration of
Anticholinergic medications can decrease the effectiveness of metoclopramide.
Side Effects
No serious side effects have been reported when metoclopramide is used in low doses for brief periods. However, the nervous system side effect increases with higher doses and longer periods of treatment. Drowsiness, restlessness, fatigue,
constipation or diarrhea may occur.

This medicine will add to the effects of alcohol and other CNS depressants. Therefore, consult your doctor before taking alcohol and other CNS depressants.
