Usage Information

Flovent is a liquid form of fluticasone, which is used with an inhaler device. This device creates a spray that you inhale through your mouth and into your lungs. Flovent Rotadisk and Flovent Diskus are powder forms of fluticasone that come with a special inhaler device preloaded with blister packs containing measured doses of fluticasone.

Dosage

For inhalation aerosol: Adults and children 12 years of age and above - 88 to 880 micrograms twice daily. For inhalation of powder: Adults and children 11 years of age and above - 100 to 1000 micrograms twice daily.

Interactions

If you are using a bronchodilator, use it first before using this drug. This will allow more fluticasone to reach your lungs. Bronchodilators include albuterol, pirbuterol, bitolterol etc.

Weakness, tired feeling, nausea, loss of appetite, weight loss; wheezing or breathing problems after using this medication; skin rash, bruising, severe tingling, numbness, pain, muscle weakness; changes in the shape or location of body fat.

If an asthma attack that has already begun, do not use fluticasone inhalation to treat asthma. Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor if you are allergic to it.
