Usage Information

You may take Alprazolam with or without food. However, do not crush or chew the tablet, rather swallow the whole tablet. In case of oral liquid, measure the medicine with a marked measuring spoon or medicine cup.

Dosage

Doses differ person-to-person. The normal dosages for adults (in case of anxiety) – 0.25 to 0.5 mg three times per day, in the case of panic disorder – 0.5 mg three times per day. However, the dose usually is not more than 4 mg a day in former case and 10 mg a day in later case.

Interactions

Alprazolam interact with ketoconazole, itraconazole and some medicines for HIV infection or AIDS. Therefore, alprazolam should not be taken with them.

Allergic reaction, depression, difficulty passing urine, difficulty sleeping, lightheadedness or fainting spells, unusual behavior or thoughts of hurting yourself, muscle cramps, weakness or tiredness etc.
